03/15/2015 - College PREP - Waco, TX Landon is a 5'10/155 lbs 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2016. On the hill, he throws a FB with cut from 79-81, spins a 12/6 CB from 67-69, and showed young feel for a CH at 75-76. Mechanically, he gathers over the rubber to balance and drives with his lower half towards the plate. He worked hard and had some repeatable actions and movement on his pitches. Defensively at 3B, he worked quick feet and good body control to make plays. He worked on-time to field and was soft with the glove. Quickening his release and strengthening his arm are key to further growth. Offensively, he worked with good balance and fluidity to hit. He was direct with the barrel to contact and had a nice contact approach. Staying compact and keeping his head down on contact will boost pop and barrel accuracy. Overall - Landon is an interesting follow with tools that play.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
