10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027) Langston is an athletic 6ft/170 OF/RHP in the 2007 class. In the field, he shows a next level arm (84 velo) from the OF. The body is very projectable as a corner player with great speed (7.21 runner). Working to gain reads off the bat, will increase his stock in the OF. On the mound, he is composed and has a high ceiling. Operates with confidence from a high 3 qtr slot. FB sat 75-77 and worked down in the zone. Working on adding secondary pitches to his game will only increase his stock. At the plate, he demonstrates strength (83 exit velo) and raw power. Begins in an athletic base and looks to do damage in the gaps. Had a solid showing with 3 hits on the weekend. Overall, Langston is a player with a bright future.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Elgin (Chicago), IL Langston is an athletic RHP/OF who is a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 68-69 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and sink. Off speed stuff sow as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic, crouched setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Langston has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
