Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Langston is a solid/projectable 1B who put his skills on display at the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. With the bat, this righty shows an athletic stance with centered balanced and fluid rhythm to load. Quick hands fire the barrel to and through the zone with authority as he connects and drives the ball from gap-to-gap. At 1B, he has quick/active prep with athletic actions as he comes to get to GB. He has great bag awareness adjusting his feet to throws up and down the line. He has soft hands with the ability to go get it and pick throws out of the dirt. Williams has a ton of upside and will make an immediate impact on a college program.

07/14/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Langston is a very talented / strong (6'2"/230) 1B who can swing it. At the plate, this righty steps into the box with a purpose looking to do damage. Quick hands delivery the barrel with speed and force as he connects and drives the ball with a ton of pop to the gaps (exit velocity = 89 mph). He will be a run producer. At 1B, he has active prep and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. He moves well around the bag adjusting his feet with the ability to pick it. Williams is a skilled 1B prospect who has the tools that will play at a very high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
