01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Leo showed as a prospect at the Preseason All American showcase. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and present well out front. He utilizes his tremendous foot quickness (6.60 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, he shows a 3-pitch mix, keeping hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 76-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Overall, Leo is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Leo continues to shine in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork in squaring balls up. Hands are clean presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

10/05/2022 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic (2025) Leo is an athletic SS/RHP in the 2025 class. He recently impressed scouts with his work ethic, coachability and ability to be a team player. On the mound, he is a finesse type pitcher who can pound the strike zone. Has a solid feel for pitching and excellent poise. He works to get ahead and will be aggressive. He uses a two-pitch mix from a ¾ release point. His FB topped at 74 with movement. His CB sat 61-66 with 11/5 shape. At the plate, he displayed a great approach. He registered 4 hits (2 rbi’s) in 9 official plate appearances. He begins with a squared stance and uses a short stride. Loads his hands well and has smooth timing. Stays inside his feet well from load to swing and uses a short path to attack the baseball. Can spray the ball to all parts of the field by seeing location. In the field, his arm plays well (84 velo) and is accurate to his targets. Has clean exchanges and uses a high ¾ slot on his release. Working to on drills to help his right-left footwork for a low and squared fielding position. This will allow him adjust to hops and position himself for right-left footwork on his throws. Overall, Leo is a solid two-way player and a must follow in the 2025 class.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Leo continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. At SS, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and plays with a ton of energy. Glove action is clean and presents out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and works through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball shows tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/13/2021 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Leo is a class of 2025 SS/2B. He shows a high level of athleticism as well as good foot speed, running the 60-yard dash in only 6.90 seconds. Also shows high levels of baseball IQ on the base paths. In the field, he shows his quick twitch actions and gets very good reads off the bat. He stays low and works beneath the baseball. Leo does a good job taking care of the baseball on the transfer before creating momentum to deliver on time with accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, he shows a lot of feel for the barrel and looks very comfortable in the box. He shows a clean and repeatable swing and does a good job of staying balanced throughout the swing while incorporating his lower half well. In game action he went 5-7 with two 2B along with 2 BB’s. Leo is a good prospect who plays the game hard and we cannot wait to see him again in the spring.

07/17/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (MS) Leo continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

03/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Leo is a 2025 SS/RHP. Medium frame athletic build with square shoulders, projectable frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary shortstop shows athleticism as he creates good fielding angles. Show some softness in his hands and fields the ball out front with good glove angle. Ability to throw from multiple arm slots with solid arm strength on throws. Displayed nice footwork on DP feeds and pivots. Right-handed pitcher with smooth and repeatable delivery. Creates good balance and direction as he loads onto his backside. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good command of the strike zone. Heavy life to fastball with tailing action. Mixed in a 10/4 shaped curveball and a true circle changeup. As he matures physically, along with a long toss throwing program and repetitions, his velocity and command will improve. Right-handed hitter begins with an upright stance and even stance. High leg kick trigger, which sometimes messes up his timing, into a short stride. Full swing path through the zone with looseness to hands. Good extension out front and ability to hit line drives to all fields. Young player who with continued growth and development has a bright future in the game.

02/27/2021 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend Leo is a SS/RHP prospect who worked hard during the Mid-Atlantic Skills Weekend. On the mound, Leo gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Leo shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 55-57mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 55-57mph. Long tossing can help Leo build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with center balance. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half, producing consistent contact. Leo can create more quality contact by working through a more level swing path. With four more years to develop, Leo has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
