09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Leo continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed continues to improve as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.95. He utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range in the MIF and is not afraid to get dirty, laying out for balls. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he presents glove well out front. Actions are aggressive as he attacks balls and shows off athletic abilities on back hand play. At the plate, he shows an aggressive approach with hands working through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent contact as he works to keep hands inside the ball utilizing all fields. At the event, he was 4 for 9 with a 3B. Once on base, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well as he will steal and take the extra base. Mental makeup continues to show as a plus tool as he plays with high energy and is very coachable.

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Leo is a very athletic and talented 2018 graduate. At the plate he was very athletic and balanced in his setup. He displayed quick hands and really used his lower half to get a firm front side at contact. His barrel accuracy and bat speed were above average and allowed him to be successful at the plate. At SS he showed solid fielding skill and fundamentals. His footwork was exceptional and really worked through each groundball well. His quick footwork allowed him to get to balls with ease and make all the plays necessary for a SS. The sky is the limit for Leo moving forward as he continues to add strength and size.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
