11/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN Levi is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. In the infield, he starts with quick feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. He takes aggressive angles towards baseball with the ability to make routine plays. He fields with his hands out front and has a quick exchange. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 75mph across diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. He hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph. With another year of development, Levi should have a bright future on the baseball diamond.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Levi continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick (and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents out front. He utilizes his quick feet well in covering ground and displaying range in the MIF. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-69 mph with stock improving as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN This is our third viewing of Levi in the last 3+ months. He continues to chip away at his skill set on the diamond. Since the Prospects Tourney he attended in January, he has improved in the following categories; 40 yard dash, grip strength on both hands, broad jump, 5-10-5 shuttle runs and most importantly, he continues to hone his defensive skills up the middle. He flashes tremendous energy and know-how at shortstop. We would like to see him continue to focus on developing his arm strength to give him every opportunity to play at the next level. At the plate, he displays balance with a middle-of-the-field approach. With continued focus on getting more lower half into his swing, Levi will continue to make headway on the offensive end. With three years of high school baseball in front of him, we look forward to watching him continue to grow.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Levi is an athletic MIF prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season Prospects Tournament. In the field, Levi shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, working to make accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Levi build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with his hands held low. He shows plus barrel control and produces solid contact. Levi can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. Overall, Levi is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN Levi is a MIF prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Levi shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Levi build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He shows smooth rhythm and takes aggressive hacks, producing solid contact. Levi can barrel up more baseballs by working through a shorter swing path. Overall, Levi is a developing prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
