06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Levi continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.08 with accuracy / carry (87 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential are solid through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Levi is a 2026 C/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit and presents a good target. Works with good direction towards second base as he replaces his feet and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Throws were on the bag, with a short arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 81mph and best pop time of 2.2 seconds. Creates good blocking angles, with his chin tucked, and keeps the ball in front of him. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and even stance with comfortable hands. Has a controlled load with good barrel control in the zone. A compact swing allows him to hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. Overall, Levi is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Levi is a talented Catcher in the 2026 class. Behind the plate, he shows solid footwork and receives well. He allows the ball to travel into the zone. Has a plus arm (81 velo/2.22 pop) and it is complimented with throws that are on the bag. Replaces his feet well on blocks and positions his body to keep the ball in front of his eyes. At the plate, shows strong rhythm and balance. Has quick hands and stays inside the baseball. Working to widen his based will allow him to engage his hips more and generate additional power. Overall, Levi is a plus backstop with a bright future. Scouts are eager to witness his development at future events.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Levi is a strong coachable C/RHP out of Virginia in the class of 2026. Defensively, he showed the ability to track pitches well to his mitt while receiving with quiet eyes and soft hands. His throws were on target while his blocking was good due to getting the glove down early and keeping the ball in front. Offensively, he used a tall/open stance with loose hands and a controlled stride. He swings with intent due to a lower half that works through to a firm front side which allows him to make hard contact with power potential. On the mound, he had good mechanics by keeping his head over his back foot and breaking on time to deliver strikes consistently. He worked a fastball up to 63 mph and a breaking ball with a range from 54-57 mph. Levi could benefit from programs/drills such as flexibility training, speed & agility, long toss, catcher exchange drills and strength training.

07/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Richmond, VA Levi is a solid C/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents firm mitt sticking pitches in zone. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in 2.74 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an uphill swing path. He makes consistent contact but needs to work to level out swing path, staying on top of the baseball. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Slider is harder but resembles breaking ball. Knuckleball shows potential as being a quality pitch with tumbling action. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. With 5 years to further develop, Levi has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
