06/16/2017 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Liam is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the USA Baseball 17U Championships. In the OF, Liam shows active footwork and gains ground when fielding ground balls. He gets into a low, athletic position and fields the ball in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square, on-time stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a short swing to the ball and makes hard contact leading to consistent line drives and gap to gap power. Overall, Liam is a talented prospect who has the skill set to perform well at the next level.

12/18/2016 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Liam is a well-built, talented outfield prospect who continues to improve his game offensively and defensively. In the field, Liam plays with good rhythm and quick, active footwork giving him solid range in each direction laterally. He has an aggressive approach and presents his glove as he fields the ball in a low, athletic position. Liam has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from an over the top slot. He does a nice job playing through the baseball with momentum as he throws downhill giving him consistent strong throws. As a right-handed hitter, Liam has an athletic stance with a firm front side that is slightly open. He has a fluid load with a short, square stride and maintains a centered balance. Liam has above average bat speed with a direct swing path that is on-plane producing hard contact. He consistently delivers the barrel to the baseball. Liam has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. Overall, Liam has a bright future at the next level as he continues to strive towards his full potential.

09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Liam continues to show his versatility. He ran his lowest 60 time to date - now a 6.87 runner. He moves lightly on his feet and tracks down fly-balls hit into the gaps. He has a smooth exchange, works in-line toward his target and makes accurate throws. As a hitter - Liam has a balanced approach with simple/quiet actions. He gets good hand separation and jumps on pitches he likes. Working to be more direct to and through the zone with increased bat speed will help to tap into power potential. On the mound, Liam mixes his pitches and changes speeds well, keeping hitters off-balance. He repeats well and throws strikes, giving his defense a chance. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with late bite, proving to be a solid out pitch. Driving his lower 1/2 more off of the rubber will help to get added velocity on his FB. Bailey continues to progress every time we see him - a 2018 grad - he still has time to polish his tools to get to where he wants to be.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Bailey improved his foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.12 runner. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in tracking down balls in the OF through proper routes / angles, displaying an aggressive approach. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he plays through balls more. At the plate, he has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat, mainly to the pull side. He utilizes his lower half well and shows good barrel accuracy. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/16/2015 - College PREP - Charleston, WV This athletic ballplayer continues to show well. In the OF, he has quick footwork and moves well to track down fly-balls to his right and left. He gathers well and gains ground playing through the ball aggressively. With the bat, Liam displays a balanced setup with a solid base. Swing path is level as he engages his lower 1/2 and squares the ball up. On the mound, Bailey keeps his eyes on the target and repeats his delivery well. Glove side lead helps him to stay in-line as he throws pitches to both sides of the plate. FB now tops out at 77 mph while breaking ball has 11/5 shape. Finishing with more extension on his follow through will help improve effectiveness on the mound. Only a 2018 - Liam is a hard worker who will find success in the upcoming years.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament This athletic/versatile 2-way player continues to impress on the diamond, both in the outfield and on the mound. In the OF, Liam shows quick actions working on the balls of his feet. He works through the ball well, gathers well, and gains ground toward his target. Offensively, Liam remains balanced with a quiet/simple approach. Plus barrel accuracy helps him to square the ball up consistently. Continuing to drive his lower 1/2 more will help him to tap into his power potential. On the bump, Bailey competes and attacks the zone. He fills up the zone and throws strikes consistently, coming right at the hitter without fear. He works in-line toward the dish and finishes in an athletic fielding position. Liam continues to show as an above average player and will be one to watch as his high school career begins this spring.

10/01/2014 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Liam is beginning to show increased comfort against elite competition from around the country. Offensively, he went 3-7 in his AB's with two singles and a triple. He put the ball in play in 6 of 7 of his AB's pressuring the defense to make plays, and to make plays quickly with his consistent hard 90's. Defensively, he worked well in the OF, taking good routes to balls fielding with a sure glove. He threw with accuracy, but would benefit from lengthening his arm action. On the bump, he mixed his 3 pitches well and fielded his position. His FB sat from 70-75, CB from 64-66 and CH from 60-63. More consistent release points on all pitches and maintaining arm speed through his slew of off-speed pitches will make him more effective. In all - Liam is a very focused kid that is a student of the game and will be very productive when he begins to trust his work.

06/17/2014 - National Tryout - Charleston, WV This 2-way player continues to shine. In the OF, his aggressive approach and quick footwork put him into position behind the fly-ball. On the mound he has a clean / repeatable delivery and pounds the zone with his fastball. He continues to make adjustments on the mound and shows the ability to compete and challenge hitters. Should be a nice option in the OF and on the mound as he continues to get stronger.

On the mound Liam showed good composure, he throws strikes, and he gets good extension on his finish He can improve by using his front side more, getting more coil on his leg lift, and staying more in-line to his target. At the plate he displayed good balance, excellent bat speed and swing path, and he barrels the ball consistently. In game scenarios, he showed that he is a very smart hitter. Liam can improve offensively by having a smoother load and loading the hands later. On the field, he is a perfectionist. He asked a lot of questions during the event and took notes on ways that he could improve. He is a good teammate and has a very high baseball IQ. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
