06/23/2022 - BF Firecracker Classic WEST 16U Liam continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to sign through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Liam is a 2024 SS/OF. Liam possessed many intangibles during his time at the Arizona Fall Classic such as being coachable, a team player and always engaged. Defensively, he exhibited active footwork with a quick first step which allowed him to work through the baseball well and deliver accurate throws to first base. Offensively, he utilized an tall/open stance with good timing to get the barrel on plane and hit balls all over the field. Liam could benefit from a strength and conditioning program to get him ready for the next level. Overall, Liam is a promising player and if he continues to develop we expect he will be on college coaches radars.

09/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Union City, CA Liam continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. At SS, he takes a quick first step (7.10 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (80 mph velocity) on his throws. In the OF, not many balls get down that are hit his way. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Liam continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.25 runner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, feet are active as he plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Liam is an athletic SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he gets stride foot down sooner to work on time. With 3 years to further develop, Liam has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
