02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Liam is a unique prospect that made several adjustments during the hitting accelerated training weekend. At the plate, Liam Loads his hands back into the launch position and uses his lower half. He has a quiet approach and shows pull side pop. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and staying balance through contact will allow him to be more direct to the ball. Keeping the head down at contact will help him stay behind the ball longer and prevent him from opening his front side. Liam will continue to improve with experience and being a student of the game will further his skills in the future.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Liam is a 2023 OF/P prospect that's small but plays big. In the OF, Liam has an active prep step, creates momentum behind the ball, and follows through on his throws. Continuing to have a quick first step, and creating angles to the ball will help him cover more ground. At the plate, Liam has a tall stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and keeps the barrel through the zone. Keeping the head down at contact will prevent Liam from pulling off the ball. Continuing to keep his chest behind the front knee when getting to contact will allow Liam to get extension with the barrel. On the bump, Liam Gathers over the rubber, keeps his eyes on the target, and works at a good pace. Continuing to separate on time and finishing over the front side with his delivery will allow him to pound the bottom half of the zone. Liam is a coachable player that made several adjustments over the week. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/22/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Potomac, MD Liam is a R/R (2023 grad) OF/RHP. Defensively in the OF, he works hard and hustles from right to left as he tries to get behind fly balls. He reads GB's well and makes strong throws to his target. On the hill, this righty gathers over the rubber and keeps his eyes locked in on the mitt. He delivers a (FB, CH) from a hi 3/4 arm slot with quick arm action and commands the zone with strikes. As a hitter, Liam tracks the pitch into the zone with patience. He explodes his lower 1/2, whips his barrel quickly through the zone and drives pitches with pop to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quick footwork
2. Get behind on the fly ball
3. Clean exchange to throw
Pitching
1. Strong frontside
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Finish/extension
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Stay level more
3. Middle of field approach

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
