01/14/2022 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex(Ages 12-14) Liam is a smart ballplayer who plays 2B/RHP in the class of 2027 out of Fairview, TX. At 2B, he has efficient footwork by taking good angles to the baseball and fielding the ball out front in a low fielding position. He works through the baseball with a quick exchange and short arm action while making accurate throws/feeds to his target. At the plate, he showed a simple approach/swing by keeping his head and eyes quiet to make consistent contact with a level on plane swing. His bat path enabled him to make solid line drive contact. On the hill, he showed solid mechanics by separating on time and striding in line to his target. His delivery was repeatable which enabled him to throw strikes with his 2 pitches. His fastball topped out at 58 mph while his breaking ball had 10/4 action with gradual break. Liam could benefit from programs/drills such as bands, strength training, towel drills, long toss, speed & agility. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as Liam enters his 7th grade baseball season.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Liam is a coachable utility prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. In the field, Liam shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Long tossing can help Liam continue to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He stays compact through the ball with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Liam can barrel up more baseballs by working on his pitch selection. Overall, Liam is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/16/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Liam is a young, 2-way player who plays OF and catcher. Defensively, Liam has active feet, a presentable glove, and he gets good reads off the bat. He has a quick 1st step, he covers ground well, and throws with accuracy from a loose arm to his target. Behind the plate, Liam has efficient footwork, he sits in low, and his glove is soft. He uses his chest to block, his exchange is quick, and he throws with momentum from a short arm action to his target. Offensively, this LHH has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a consistent/direct barrel, he hits line drives, and he uses his lower body. Liam can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
