Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

07/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kansas City, MO Liam is a 1B/RHP prospect in the 2023 class. In the field, Liam displays great rhythm and is aggressive in his groundball pursuit. He fields out in front of his body and funnels well to a clean exchange. Creates solid angles and is exceptional on his double play feeds. On the mound, his solid frame provides arm speed. His FB sits 74-76 with tailing action. His CB has 12/6 shape and sits 59-60. His CH sits 61-2 with deception. Learning to control the strike zone with consistency will make him effective with his long levers. At the plate, he has a quiet head and is balanced. His has strong barrel whip (80 exit velo) and generates pull side power. Working to gain hand separation will help with his timing and allow him to stay inside the ball more. Overall, Liam is a solid prospect who should receive looks for the next level.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Liam is a talented 1B/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. In the field, Liam has a strong arm (78 velo) and works well around the bag. His throws are accurate and makes good decisions on the field. He centers the baseball and fields the ball out on front. On the mound, he operates with a 2 pitch mix from the stretch. His FB touched 77 with arm side run. His CB sat 61 with 11/5 shape. He works downhill well with eyes to his target. He keeps his shoulders in line to stay directional to his target. Slowing down his rhythm, will allow his front side to pull through for more balance and added velo. At the plate, he gets on plane well. His lower half is active and makes good use of it in his swing. With more time to develop, Liam has the ability to turn into a solid college prospect.

09/26/2021 - All-In Membership - Lansing, KS Liam is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame thick build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and plays with good effort. Tries to center baseball and fields from a square fielding position with glove out front. Has a short arm action into a high 3/4 arm slot with throws to second base at 76mph. On the mound, he has a projectible frame. Gets to good balance point and works with good direction to plate. Has a loose/clean arm action and keeps eyes on target throughout his delivery. Throws a FB that sits 70-74mph with downward plane and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin through the strike zone. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with some quickness to his hands, and has a fast bat through the hitting zone. Made consistent contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
