07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Lincoln continues to show as a prospect on the diamond and has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.12. Defensively at SS, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and gains ground toward his target. He shows off his atletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Exchange is clean with strong (82 mph velocity) throws across the diamond. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, he has improved hitting / power grades through an athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel when centered with power showing gap-to-gap. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a solid team player, is very coachable, and works hard to be the best player he can be. Lincoln has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

02/03/2018 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Lincoln is a tall, solid, and athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.30. In the MIF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (96 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lincoln has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
