07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (HS) Lincoln is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training & Tournament. On the mound, Lincoln starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Lincoln operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Changeup sits from 62-63mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Being more controlled gathering to his balance point can help Lincoln improve his pitch command. In the field, Lincoln shows efficient footwork with a quick first step. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a quick exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. Lincoln can build up his arm strength by long tossing. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He shows good rhythm and works through a compact swing, driving the ball from gap to gap. Engaging his lower half more can help Lincoln generate more pop off the barrel. With three more years to develop, Lincoln has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Lincoln is a coachable RHP/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cleveland All Star Experience. On the mound, Lincoln works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Lincoln shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Cutter sits from 51-52mph. Knuckle ball sits from 52-53mph. Separating his hands later in his motion can help Lincoln improve as a pitcher. In the field, Lincoln takes a good first step and shows quick footwork and fields in an athletic position. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Lincoln can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and line drives. Taking a square stride towards the pitcher can help Lincoln improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Lincoln has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Lincoln is a high-energy RHP/3B that shows a lot of improvement from past events. His 60-time decreased from an 8.4 to an 8.16 along with his home-to-first time, which decreased from a 5.81 to a 5.19. In the field, Lincoln shows a good pre-pitch routine with raw actions. Lincoln can improve in the field by working on agility through cone and ladder drills along with presenting his glove out front of his body to improve glove accuracy. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and makes accurate throws on a line to his targets. Throwing velocity shows improvement, increasing from 61mph to 64mph. At the plate, Lincoln shows a compact, spray type approach. He displays a square, athletic set up with a short stride and a good center balance. His lower half stays through with an on-plane swing path as he makes consistent contact, using the middle of the field. Lincoln can improve at the plate by developing separation between foot stride and hand load to increase power. Exit velocity did increase from past events jumping from 60mph to 67mph. On the mound, Lincoln throws a FB and CB for consistent strikes. Mechanics are solid as he shows a good arm action with a bulldog attitude. Lincoln can improve accuracy by staying square to his target. Lincoln shows some feel for pitching with fair poise and composed emotions. He is aggressive, tries to pitch ahead in counts and can put hitters away with his breaking ball. Lincoln does a decent job holding runners on, is a FB pitcher and has the potential to be a command type by putting the ball where he wants. At the event, Lincoln shows he is coachable and hustles everywhere on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
