Official Scouting Report

  • SSPosition Projection

08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Lincoln continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in attacking balls and play through with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Working to get stride foot down sooner to be on time will aid in improving hitting grade. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/26/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN Lincoln is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Lincoln shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into a low position and fields out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. On the mound, Lincoln gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes square to the plate. Lincoln shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 54mph. Cutter sits from 46-48mph. Changeup sits from 48-52mph with sinking action. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Long toss
2. Play lighter on feet
Hitting
1. Smoother rhythm
2. Increase bat speed
Pitching
1. Extension through release
2. Lower half drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
