Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

05/28/2023 - National Showcase - Minneapolis, MN Lincoln is a RHP/SS prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. On the mound he has a quick arm with swing and miss stuff. Works with good direction down the mound and throws with intent. A 4-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a "heavy" FB that sat 84-86mph with plus command. He mixes in a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with good depth, a slider that he throws with FB arm speed, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. In the infield has a good prep step, with active/efficient footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made accurate/on-line throws to first base from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 92mph. A right-handed hitter he hits from an athletic and open stance. Starts with a square glide step and is centered at contact. Showed late bat whip and hit balls where they were pitched. Good hip turn enables him to hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during his round of BP. With another of development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Lincoln continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.94 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (93 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, power potential is well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside he ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Lincoln is an athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound, repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 81-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine with solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Lincoln has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
