01/27/2019 - College PREP - Houston, TX Lloyd is a lean, athletic SS/RHP with a bright future ahead on the diamond. Foot speed is excellent as indicated by his 60 time of 6.85. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range and soft / sure hands. Throws are accurate with on line zip (90 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities through a squared setup. Hands are quick / explosive (85 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 80-84 mph with slight tail. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Slider is a quality pitch, displaying 12/6 shape with tight spin and late break. Control is outstanding as he works fast, attacking hitters and through strikes with all his pitches. With his baseball tools, Lloyd will get looks from the top collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

08/21/2015 - Interactive Video Program - South Williamsport, PA Lloyd Richards is a very strong outfielder that also hits and hits for power. In the box, he has a good setup and gets his body into a good position ready to hit. He makes consistently hard contact and pulls the ball with exceptional pop. Defensively, he works with strong body control and efficient feet to make plays. He is sure with the glove and throws with momentum to his targets with carry. All in all - Lloyd is skilled on both sides of the diamond and has a strong future ahead of him.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
