11/06/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Logan continues to show the makings of a solid college player with his baseball tools. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange in getting rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.20 range with accuracy / carry on his throws. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. He moves well laterally, flashing range to both sides.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Logan continues to show a promising future on the dia-mond. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. Pop times remains in the 2.19 range. At the plate, Logan has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone as he con-nects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Logan is a strong bodied 2017 C that shows right handed power at the plate and proved to be a coachable, hard-working player at Pirate City. Barker works from a square setup, activates the hands well and shows an aggressive/attacking approach. Logan displays quick hands to the ball which produces the plus power. Behind the plate, he has a good base and stays quiet with his body to receive. Logan shows proper footwork in his transition to throw and avoiding a wrap and push with the arm-stroke. As a blocker, remembering to let the mitt lead instead of flipping will be beneficial in his development.

11/01/2015 - College PREP - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Logan is a solid, athletic C/3B that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Feet are quick / active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws show accuracy and carry as he displays solid arm strength. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At 3B, he moves well laterally, flashing range. Feet are active / aggressive playing through balls while presenting hands well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through the point of contact, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing, showing gap to gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Logan has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
