06/14/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Logan showed his consistency on both sides of the ball, as well as some of his best numbers to date out at the Omaha National World Series. On the hill, he threw 3 pitches will good feel and free arm action. His CB had tight spin with 12/6 shape and he threw it with command. His CH was another sound pitch, being thrown with arm side run for strikes. He showed a good tempo, keeping the game moving along and repeating in the zone. In the infield, he was mechanically sound, worked around the ball, and had a quick first step. His hands were soft/sure and he fielded in front. Offensively, he was balanced, had a still head, and a simple approach that allowed him to make hard contact. He stays within his own ability and will improve with extension through contact. In all - Logan projects well as a pitcher at the next level with an ability to compete at a high level, pounding the zone and changing speeds.

10/16/2013 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Barker showed as a RHP/SS at the event but currently projects best at SS for the next level where he continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Defensive grade has improved, now showing solid abilities. He works to get around balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft, clean, and sure as he made several nice plays at SS. Throws are accurate with carry as he displays a quick / clean release. At the plate, Logan has improved his hitting / power grades through an athletic setup. He loads well and shows quick hands that work through a level swing path. He uses his lower half well and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 7. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph with arm side run through a loose / free arm action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with fading action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude with inner strength and a high ceiling.

08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Logan is an all around good player for his age. On the mound, Logan has a long arm action, his balance is solid, and he has good direction toward home, he keeps a still head, level shoulders, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. At SS, Logan has soft / sure hands, he fields low and athletically, and he delivers the ball with consistency to his target. At the plate, Logan has an open setup, good balance, and a level swing. He swings in good rhythm, he makes adjustments well, and he puts the ball in play.

05/12/2013 - College PREP - Boise, ID Logan is a RHP who has a tall and lanky frame. This righty has a 3-pitch mix, throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He can paint the corners with outstanding control. FB ranges from 76-78 mph and shows some run. CB is best pitch as it has 11/5 break and sharp/late action. He gets good extension out over his front side and finishes well. His simple actions and repeatable delivery combine to make Logan a projectable pitcher. At the plate, Barker shows an open setup and solid load. He maintains good balance, squares the ball up, and shows the ability to drive the ball to the gaps. Logan's future is on the mound where he will continue to excel as he is only a 2015 graduate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
