05/03/2015 - National Tryout - Adrian (Detroit), MI
Logan showed for the first time in two years with consistent actions on all sides of the baseball as a RHP/SS. Defensively, he worked with energy to make plays and showed good athleticism and foot speed running a 7.25 sixty. Offensively, he had a contact approach at the plate and was on-time to get to his hitting position. Staying more compact to deliver the barrel and driving with his lower half is key to further growth. On the mound, he threw his FB from 61-63, spun a 10/4 CB from 55-57 with good break, and showed a CH from 52-55. He threw more strikes than balls and gathered over the rubber with balance to initiate his delivery. Adding general strength and arm strength through a throwing program will help improve all aspects of his game. In all - we look forward to tracking Logan as he begins to grow and compete for his HS team.
05/05/2013 - National Tryout - Adrian, MI
Logan is an average sized, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Logan has a loose / free arm action, a controlled balance point, and good command of his pitches. At SS, Logan is aggressive to the ball, he gains ground, and delivers the ball with consistency from a long arm action. Offensively, Logan has a square set-up, a level swing, and he uses some lower 1/2.
06/22/2012 - Maryland Select Training & Competition
Logan is a 2018 graduate who pitches and plays infield. In the infield, Logan has firm hands and active footwork. He has an athletic fielding position and shows playable range. Would like to see him work on fielding the ball out in front more as he tends to field deep at times. At the plate, Logan has an athletic setup and is centered with his stride. He uses his lower half at times and sometimes will drag the bat through the zone. He is also early with his timing, so would like to see him work on his rhythm to develop consistency at the plate. On the mound, Logan throws strikes with his fastball and has a good mound presence. He gets to a good balance point and has a smooth delivery. He needs to work on his finish as he cuts his motion off at the last minute and this could cause arm problems for the future. With a better finish his overall delivery will be sound and will have a nice consistent motion. Logan has a lot of potential and showed all week the willingness to learn. He should develop nicely for the future and will compete at the next level.
