Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHP/1BPosition Projection

Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Logan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, he shows a controlled/repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 60-63 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. With his glove action he presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Logan is a 2025 LHP/1B prospect who showcased his skills at the All-Region Tournament. On the mound, Logan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works in line toward the plate and keeps his pitches down in the zone. Logan shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits at 54mph with 10-4 break. In the field, Logan shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and takes a short swing, producing solid gap to gap pop. With five more years to develop, Logan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/01/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Clarksburg, WV Logan is a 2025 LHP who throws strikes. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) to keep hitters guessing. He works from the stretch, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. He throws strikes with all 3 pitches and repeats his delivery well. FB ranges from 57-59 mph while showing slight run. Breaking ball has 2/8 shape with tight spin and good action. Changeup has some sink and is just thrown a slight bit too hard. Getting more glove-side lead/tuck will help to get even more into all 3 pitches. As a hitter, Logan shows a slightly closed stance with centered balance. He takes an aggressive hack through a level path and works to engage his lower 1/2. He connects and hits line-drives. Working to stride more square will help to avoid closing himself off, resulting in even more pop. Only a 2025 grad - Logan has upside on the mound with still a ton of time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
