Official Scouting Report

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Logan is a coachable player who asks questions and has a willingness to learn. On the mound, this RHP steps onto the rubber with a purpose. He pounds the zone and attacks hitters, working ahead in the count often. He works to controlled balance point, has smooth separation and drives downhill toward the dish. FB shows arm-side run and sink as hitters have a tough time squaring it up. He commands the zone and hits hit spots well. Continuing to develop his off-speed pitches will only add to his effectiveness. In the OF, Logan hustles to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball and has a clean exchange to throw. As a hitter - this righty has a balanced setup with patience. He swings on a level path and works to engage his lower 1/2. Getting loaded sooner will help to improve timing and increase contact consistency. Logan has upside with still a ton of time to develop his tools and get stronger.

08/02/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Council Bluffs (Omaha), IA Logan is a young (2021 grad) 2-way player as a RHP/OF. On the mound, this righty throws his FB from a high 3/4 arm slot. FB ranges from 66-68 mph as he repeats well. He gets good glove side lead and works in-line toward the dish. In the OF, he shows active prep footwork and hustles to track down fly-balls. He maintains good body control, gathers well and makes accurate throws into his target. At the plate, this RHH has a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and will pull it with pop. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Balance point
3. Finish with extension
Defense
1. Routes/Angles
2. Play through ball
Offense
1. Rhythm/Timing
2. Let ball travel
3. Shorter/more direct swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
