01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Pirate City Logan is a solid 3B/RHP with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. At 3B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the plays. He shows smooth actions and picks the ball well, showing sure hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to increase foot quickness and play through balls more. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows an athletic / squared setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to get stride foot down sooner to work on time and let the ball travel more. Power numbers will improve as he learns to load more and use his lower half. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 64-70 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sweeping action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality pitches. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and develops another off speed pitch. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. Logan has abilities with a lot of room to improve.
