Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

11/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Logan is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame stocky build with thick lower half and strength present. At C, he showed athletic actions, with an flexible hips, and has an easy sit. Has good glove actions, with good pocket awareness, and tracks ball to mitt. He replaces his feet as he gains ground to second base with good direction. Has a long arm stroke, with a high 3/4 release point, and arm velocity up to 81mph and a best pop time of 2.1 seconds. He showed good blocking angles as he works to keep balls in front of him and is quick to his feet. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and has a compact/clean delivery. Lower half driven delivery and takes the proper stride length. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 80-81mph with plus command, and a 12/6 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth. At the plate, he starts with a crouched and even stance. Showed smooth timing to his swing, with weight between his knees, and has a lower half driven swing. Good plate discipline, with a fast barrel through the hitting zone, and makes contact out front. He hit balls hard to the pull side during his round of BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) Logan is a 2024 C/RHP prospect out of Wellston, OH who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit and presents a low target. 2-hand transfer and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Accurate throws to second base with an arm velocity up to 82mph and a best pop time of 2.24 seconds. He creates good blocking angles, with a tucked chin, and he centers the baseball. Continuing to add strength to his frame and shortening his arm stroke will help Logan be a more successful catcher. At the plate, he hits from an even and athletic stance with loose hands. He hits into a firm front side and has a fluid swing. Short/compact swing who keeps barrel in the zone a long time. During his round of BP, he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. In live game action, he reached base 4 times with a triple and drew 3 base on balls. On the mound, he showed good mound presence and some feel for pitching. A small rocker step, with a relaxed knee lift, and he works with good direction down the mound. He throws a FB that sat 77-79 with some movement in the zone and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with good depth. At the event, he struck out 4 batters in 2 innings of work and threw over 50% of his pitches for strikes. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

02/29/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD (Ages 12-14) Logan is a solidly-built young prospect with a bright future. He performed well at the Skills Weekend showing a variety of tools. At the plate Logan controlled the barrel well and has good hands that adjust well and deliver the barrel on a regular basis. His overall approach was simple and balanced. He is aggressive - looking to attack pitches he likes and using his good bat speed to do damage. Behind the plate Logan seems to fit the catching position well with his frame, attitude and instincts. He receives well showing the ability to control the glove with his strong hands. He provides his pitchers with a good target and is solid on balls in the dirt. While he has arm strength, more consistency with his arm slot will help the accuracy of his throws. Logan is a prospect to follow closely over the next few years!

01/26/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Logan is an athletic, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Logan has active feet, firm hands, and he squares up well to the baseball. He blocks and receives well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action to 2nd base. On the mound, Logan has good balance, on-time hand separation, and lands with good direction toward home plate. He keeps his eyes on target and throws strikes. Offensively, Logan has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He swings aggressively, makes hard contact, and hits line drives consistently. Solid skills can get even better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
