Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Logan is a rangy RHP/1B that showed to be a gamer out in Omaha. In the field Logan showed a good low fielding position and the ability to make some tough picks at 1B. At the plate Logan sets up in a square stance and slightly open. His hands are comfortable, and he keeps his lower half centered. He gets his swing on plane and shows power to the opposite field. On the mound Logan showed a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB. The FB showed some AS Run and the CB was 10-4 with tight spin. He shows good presence on the mound with a square set up and a simple starter step gathering over the rubber, separating on time. Logan showed to be a very coachable kid that looked good in games. Logan wants to learn and get better and will with time to develop.

12/02/2018 - College PREP - Lewiston, ME Logan is a lean, long, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Logan has a clean arm circle, he stands over the rubber well balanced, and he hides the ball well. He has a loose arm circle, gets good extension on his pitches, and he finishes in a complete position. More extension and added arm strength will help solid abilities on the mound get better. At 1B, Logan has active feet, soft hands, and good lateral movements. He works hard defensively, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy from a loose arm action to his target. Fielding a little further out in front will help defense get even better. At the plate, Logan has a square set-up, he tracks the ball well, and his swing is compact. He makes square contact, he can spray to all fields, and uses some lower body. Hitting grades can improve with better timing, more direct hands, and tapping into more lower body.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
