08/16/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Dickinson, ND Logan continues to work hard on his game. Behind the dish, this defensive specialist sits in well with athletic actions while presenting a low target. He works hard laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt. Transfer is smooth with accurate throws down to the 2B bag. As a hitter, this righty shows fluid rhythm to load and waits for his pitch. Barrel is whipped with speed to and through the zone as he engages his lower 1/2 well to generate torque and create pop off of his barrel. Logan is a gamer who will bring his all every time he steps onto the field.

12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Logan showed his best ability to date at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Offensively, he sprayed the ball to all fields with plus gap pop. He was consistent to get down to contact on a level path and was accurate with the barrel. Staying strong with his top hand - working on getting extended - and learning to trust his swing is key to his further development. Behind the plate, he works with quick feet and body control to flash pops in the 1.9 range. He sat well, presenting a low target, stuck pitches, and threw on the bag with accuracy. He showed good feel to block, but can anticipate the ball in the dirt better to cover up and deaden in front. In all - Logan is a strong / athletic player that works hard and projects well.

08/17/2014 - College PREP - Dickinson, ND Logan is a solid, athletic C/3B that will graduate in 2016. Behind the plate, he shows a clean transfer / exchange with accuracy on his throws. Pop times show a range of 2.10-2.19 with accuracy and carry on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he develops better footwork to throw. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At 3B, he moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF and works to square balls up, displaying soft / clean hands. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he plays through the ball while presenting hands more out front and increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and has some strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to use all fields. With 2 years to further develop, Logan has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
