07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Logan is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way player that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 1B, Logan has an active prep step, he presents a low/ early glove, and works from the ground up. He has good footwork around the bag and makes accurate double play feeds. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Logan starts in a tall stance, loads his hands back, and gets his front foot down on time. He needs to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and be more aggressive on fastballs. On the bump, Logan gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm stroke. He creates arm side run on his fastball and has a 10-4 break on his breaking ball. He needs to finish over the front side to create a tighter spin on the breaking and developing a change up will allow him to work off his fastball more efficiently. Logan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
