Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Logan is a young 3B/RHP who will graduate in the class of 2028. He shows off his best tools at the plate, hitting from a tall and athletic stance with an even stride as he begins to load into his lower ½. Shows smooth and fluid timing allowing him to consistently get the barrel into the zone in a short/direct path. Shows feel for the barrel and hits consistent line drives with exit velos as high as 69 MPH. In the field, he shows good glove actions with smooth feet to the baseball. He fields from a low position and plays beneath the baseball. Shows off some ball security with clean exchanges before creating momentum to make accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, he shows simple and repeatable mechanics with good feel for the strike zone. He does a good job keeping his eyes on target and works downhill in a good direction. Delivered all pitches from a high ¾ arm slot. His fastball was up to 61 MPH while flashing feel for both an 11-5 shaped breaking ball. Logan is a bright young player that has multiple years to continue his development.

11/06/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - St. Petersburg (Tampa), FL Logan worked out at 3B and behind the plate during his last workout with The Factory. At 3rd base, Logan has good range, he presents his glove well, and makes the routine plays on balls hit his way. He is a good communicator, shows a solid feel for the game, and throws with a quick arm across to his target. Behind the plate, Logan sits in well, he tracks to his glove, and gets the job done blocking. Logan has a clean exchange and a high 3/4 arm slot to his target. At the plate, Logan has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and good bat speed. He makes consistent contact and can spray to all fields.

09/11/2022 - All-In Membership - St. Petersburg (Tampa), FL Logan is a 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Logan presents his glove out in front and makes the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Logan field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and works through a direct swing, spraying line drives to all fields. Logan can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Logan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Logan operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 55-60mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 54-55mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Logan improve his pitch velocity. Overall, Logan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

04/18/2021 - All-In Membership - Tampa, FL Logan is a lean 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2028. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range increasing as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 54-56 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 7 years to further develop, Logan has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
