09/27/2015 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Logan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields and displaying gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with ball jumping off bat when centered. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.28. Feet are active and work in line to his target through a quick / clean exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level.

09/22/2013 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Logan is a young backstop who has an athletic build. Offensively, he shows an athletic/open stance with a solid base. He has good rhythm and gets back into a solid load position. He has a middle of the field approach and squares the ball up. Shortening up his stroke will help to improve consistency at the plate. As a catcher, Logan shows sits in well and has a clean exchange. He works in-line toward his target and gains ground. A long toss program will help to increase arm strength and lower pop times. As only a 2018 graduate, Logan has a lot of time to develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
