Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • IF/RHPPosition Projection

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Logan showed as a IF/RHP for the first time at the event. In the IF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a compact swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the whole field through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 64-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but through too hard to fastball velocities. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

06/17/2018 - College PREP - Kansas City, KS Logan is a lanky and athletic 2020 Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Logan presents a big target and tries to work behind the ball when receiving. He keeps a quiet head and works laterally to block the ball. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws on line to second base. At the plate, Logan starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits off a firm front side, stays balanced through contact, and drives the ball to the opposite side off the field consistently. Logan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
