12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Louis is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Louis presents a good target and tracks the ball well. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws on the 1B side of the 2B bag. Sitting in a more athletic primary stance can help Louis improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with his hands held high. He flashes a controlled, on time rhythm and hits from a strong front side. He takes a compact swing with strong barrel control, leading to solid contact. Louis can improve as a hitter by activating his hands in his load. Overall, Louis is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
