Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/CPosition Projection

03/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Lucas is a C/RHP in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he has active feet and receives in a slightly staggered stance. He keeps his eyes behind the baseball well as he tracks the pitch. Releases from a high ¾ slot with solid pop times (2.34). Working to stay low and drive to his targets will put into the 2.0 range shortly. On the mound he is athletic and operates a 3-pitch mix that pounds the zone. His FB topped at 68 with cutting actions. His CB has great spin (11/5 shape) and sat 57-8. His CH sat 58-61 with great deception by his FB arm speed. At the plate, he begins with an athletic stance and is on time with his stride. He uses a direct path to the baseball and shows pull side production. Working to stay in the hitting zone longer will provide more extension and increase his ability to drive to all fields. Overall, Lucas is very athletic and with 4 years of development, he will turn into a fine prospect

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
