09/15/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Lucas is an athletic SS/OF prospect who showed well at the Futures East showcase. In the field, Lucas shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits from a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard line drives to his pull side. Overall, Lucas is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
