06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Luke continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 85 mph). Luke has the tool that will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

05/30/2016 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Luke is a talented/projectable 1B/LHP who can make things happen. At 1B, this athlete has active footwork and moves fluidly from right to left. He presents his glove and works from the ground-up, funneling smoothly. He moves well around the bag and can adjust to inaccurate throws with the ability to pick it. With the bat, this lefty shows a balanced setup with smooth rhythm to load. He whips the barrel with speed and squares the ball up with pop as it explodes off of his barrel (exit velocity = 91 mph). On the mound, Luke has a 4-pitch arsenal (FB, CB, SL, CH) from a 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He maintains fluid tempo and works to keep the ball down in the zone. FB tops out at 83 mph while showing slight tail. Curveball has 2/8 shape with good action. He has a good feel for his CH as it compliments his FB well. Luke is a skilled prospect who has a very bright future ahead of him and will play at a high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
