07/29/2017 - Under Armour All-America Game, Powered by Baseball Factory One of the hardest throwers in the class, Luke is a physical presence on the mound with a quiet confidence. His delivery includes an inward turn at the top, helping to hide the ball from hitters, and making it even more difficult to catch up to his premium velocity, which has hit 97 mph at Baseball Factory events. His three pitch mix also includes a low 80s slider and a mid 80s change. Everything is thrown with relative ease allowing him to carry his stuff deeper into games. Committed to Georgia Tech.

06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Luke is a prospect on the mound and with the makings of a high draft pick in 2018. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 97 mph. Fastball showed range of 94-97 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate.

10/15/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Bartnicki is a tall, athletic LHP with a great pitcher's frame and a live fastball from a deceptive delivery. It is hard for hitters to pick the ball up out of his hand making his fastball play even better than the low 90s he showed at the Futures South event. He produces those velocity numbers with limited effort, giving signs that there is even more in the tank. Luke also shows some feel for a change and spins a curveball that he can land for strikes. There is big upside in this LHP.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
