12/17/2011 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Commuter) Luke has a very good set up and shows good rhythm in his stance and also in his stride and load. Luke also shows good hand positioning in his stance and stride and load, which allows him to deliver the barrel through the hitting zone easily and also consistently. He has a very nice swing he just needs to get his hips working with his upper body and his hands. He tends to let his hips float towards the ball, this is also called drifting, he is in a good strong position in the stride and load but instead of staying back in that strong position he tends to let his hips drift towards the baseball causing him to reach at times and also lose some power. He also needs to focus on starting his hips before his hands, when his hands go in front of his hips he tends to reach for the baseball, this also causes him lose power. Starting the hips first creates more power, lets the hands and upper body stay back, and also lets the upper body movements happen easier and more naturally.
