02/18/2024 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Luke is an athletic and lean 5ft 10/155 OF/RHP in the 2026 class. Defensively, he displays the trust factor to make all routine plays look routine. He creates a positive 1st step and gains excellent reads off the bat. Has the ability to close in on the ball with solid athletic movements. Arm action is clean and working to throw the top of the baseball will assist with accuracy. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix from a high 3 qtr. slot. His FB sat 66-8 and was in the zone. His CB/SL action showed 11-5 shape and medium break for strikes. His CH has movement and sat 53-4. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and stays quiet. Uses a simple load and has great bat to ball skills. Can hit the ball to all fields and with added strength, he can drive the baseball to the gaps. Overall, Luke is a solid two-way player with a bright future.

02/19/2023 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Luke is a 2026 OF prospect with a lean frame at 5'9" 140 pounds. In the OF, he displays quick feet with good range. His routes are impressive and he does a great job of getting in a low, squared fielding position. Really liked the drop step on balls hit behind him. He showed off a quick exchange with accurate throws to his target. Works hard to be active pre-pitch and throw downhill. At the plate, Luke features an open stance. He is a spray hitter that can make consistent contact. With more experience at the plate, he can develop a more fluid load and stride to the pitcher. Works hard to keep his bat on a level swing plane.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Luke is an athletic OF in the class of 2026. Defensively, he can really go get the baseball. He has active feet and gets behind the baseball. He has solid glove presentation and his exchanges are quick and clean. His 3/4 arm slot produces accurate throws (67 velo) that are online to the base. At the plate, he has an athletic and comfortable stance. He stays squared and balanced during his load to swing phase and shows that he can hit from foul pole to foul pole (63 exit velo). Luke has the potential to become a top prospect in high school.

06/14/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Portland, OR Luke is an OF prospect who will graduate in 2026. In the field, Luke shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate/on-line throws to his target. Taking a better prep step can help Luke make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and generates fast bat speed through the zone, spraying the ball to all fields. Luke can create more consistent contact by getting into his load sooner. With five more years to develop, Luke has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
