12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Luke is a hard working 2022 OF/RHP prospect with a high baseball IQ. In the OF, Luke has an active prep step, works behind the ball, and makes accurate throws to the bases. Continuing to read the ball off the bat and beating the ball to the spot will allow him to have clean routes to the ball. At the plate, Luke starts in a tall stance and gets his front foot down on time. He loads his hands back into the drive position and makes consistent hard contact. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball, and using the lower half will allow him to get extension through the ball. On the bump, Luke gathers over the rubber, has good posture, and throws strikes. Continuing to separate his hands on time and repeating his delivery will allow him to have a clean delivery. Luke will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/08/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Luke is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Defensively in the OF, he shows active footwork as he attacks the GB. He takes athletic routes/angles and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber with a 3-pitch mix. He pounds the zone with strikes as he delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. With the bat, Luke has smooth rhythm to load. He swings on a level path through the zone and consistently drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral range
2. Get behind fly ball
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Get on top of CB
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Finish with extension
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. Let the ball travel
3. Stay short

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
