06/21/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Luke continues to show as a 2B/RHP but currently projects best at 2B for the next level. He moves well laterally and flashes range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he displays outstanding abilities. He has a strong arm that flashes carry as well. At the plate, he continues to shine and shows good rhythm with good balance. Hands are quick, generating bat speed as they work through a level swing path. He will put the ball in play and makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with 3 2B and some clutch hits. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Luke was a leader on his team in Omaha and we feel as though he will be a very solid addition to a college program next year.
