01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Luke is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Luke gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate with good backspin through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and good gap to gap pop. On the mound, Luke gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release. Luke shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77-81mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 62-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 68-71mph with late arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Luke is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Luke is a coachable OF/RHP who worked hard on his skills during the Under Armour Southwest Championships. In the field, Luke shows smooth footwork and fields in an athletic position. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and hits agains a strong front side. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid gap to gap pop. On the mound, Luke gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Luke shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits fat 66mph. Overall, Luke is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Luke continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Luke has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/03/2018 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Luke is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. In the field, Luke gets into an atheltic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and gets good carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and hits from a strong front side. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Luke gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works fast and stays inline towards the plate. Luke shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph with sinking action. Breaking sits from 59-60mph. Overall, Luke is a talented prospect who will be one to follow in this, his sophomore season.

07/18/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Luke is a thick, strong OF/RHP who shows a bright future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. Offensively, he has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage - resulting in a barrel explosion (86 mph exit velocity) with the ball coming off well of his barrel. At the event, he was 4 for 8. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with zip (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 3 years to further develop, Luke is a prospect on the field and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
