12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Lyle is a tall, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.33. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and moves well laterally, covering a lot ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Lyle has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
