01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mac continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (89 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 2.08. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (85 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 80-84 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/27/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Mac continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Receiving / blocking skills show as tremendous tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times showed in 2.06 range with accuracy and on line carry (92 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch.

02/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Douglasville (Atlanta), GA Mac continues to shine on the diamond. He did show at 3B for the first time at the event. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.21 range with accuracy and zip (81 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and sticks ball in zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind dish. At 3B, he shows smooth clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mac has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Mac is an athletic C/RHP prospect who showed well at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. Behind the plate, Mac sits in an athletic primary stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gets into a low secondary stance and replaces his feet to throw. He makes a two-handed exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Mac is agile moving to block and tucks his chin well. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He rotates his core well and makes consistent contact. On the mound, Mac starts with a simple rock step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a clean arm, staying inline towards the plate. Mac shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph. Breaking ball sits from 68-70mph with late 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 70mph with good arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Mac is a talented prospect who will be one to follow throughout his high school career.

10/28/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Mac continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.03 with accuracy and carry on his throws. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He displays a soft glove and sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work to and through the ball at contact, creating extension. He is aggressive and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Mac is an athletic and hard working 2022 Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Mac has an athletic primary and secondary set up. He presents a big target and works behind the ball. He leads with his glove and controls the ball with his chest when blocking. Continuing to exchange the ball in front of his body and creating momentum in his legs to throw the ball to the bases will allow him to make more accurate throws. At the plate, Mac loads his hands back into the drive position and keeps a quiet head. He recognizes pitches and shows pull side pop. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and keeping his barrel on plane with the ball will allow him to keep a middle approach. Mac will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/04/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Kennesaw, GA Mac continues to progress and has clearly worked very hard. Behind the plate, he has an advanced skill set for his age. Setup is quiet and athletic with flexion and sway. He tracks pitches into his mitt and sticks them, framing well. He is quick laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt. As a hitter, this righty has centered balance and rhythm to load. He whips the barrel with speed through a level path and squares the ball up consistently. On the mound, Mac has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his eyes on the target and repeats his delivery. He fills up the zone working the ball in and out. FB has slight run topping our at 67 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape. Mac is a talented, young prospect who has a ton of upside with a ton of time to develop. He will be a player to keep an eye on in the years to come.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Mac is a 2022 C/RHP who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. Behind the plate, Mac sits in a low position to receive the ball with soft hands. He as a clean exchange to throw with a short arm action from a high 3/4 angle. He gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to carry through his target. Mac can improve defensively by keeping his head down when blocking dirt balls and by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, Mac sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride to the ball. He gets back into his load and comes through the zone with decent bat speed, spraying the ball to all fields. Mac can improve as a hitter by leading with his hips before his hands and by taking a more direct swing path to the ball. On the mound, this righty comes to a good balance point in his motion and stays in line when striding towards the plate. His fastball sits from 62-65mph with arm side tail. Mac can improve as a pitcher by finishing with his chest over his knee and following a long toss program to help build up his arm strength. Only a 2022 grad, Mac has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

10/23/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Mac is a hardworking C/RHP prospect who graduates in 2022. Behind the plate, Mac plays with great focus doing a good job of tracking the baseball with his eyes. He has an accurate arm throwing down to 2B with a long arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Offensively, Mac has a square stance with a short stride that maintains direction. He has a centered balance and takes a short, direct swing path. Mac is a line drive type hitter with the ability to use all fields. On the mound, Mac has a balanced delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with a stiff arm action. He stays in line with home plate and has the proper stride length with a controlled landing. Mac has a full repertoire of pitches featuring an 11-5 breaking CB and deceptive change-up thrown at the same arm speed as his fastball. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
