Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • Position Projection

05/26/2014 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Mack is a solid, athletic, 2-way player who projects best on the mound. Mack has a loose / clean arm action, good life on his pitches, and he gets good extension. He stands over the rubber well, has a proper stride, and finishes in a good position out front. Continuing to add arm strength and command will raise Mack/s stock on the mound. At 1st base, Mack has good body control, efficient footwork, and sure hands. He takes good angles to the ball, fields cleanly, and throws with accuracy and carry to his target. Quickening his feet and release will result in higher defensive grades. At the plate, Mack has good balance, an activated load, and solid bat speed. He has pop in his bat and gets good extension through the ball. Hitting will improve if Mack can through his hands more toward the ball and avoid spinning off.

05/23/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Memorial Day Classic 18U Participant Fastball 83-87, sat 84 with arm side run. Deceptive delivery with slight pause at balance point. Ball got out of hand free and easy. Curve was 67-73 with 2-8 shape, snapped it off with tight spin and depth. Change was 75-78 with slight tumble, used as his third pitch. Stuff is dynamic with life after leaving his hand well. Good athlete with two-way potential.

09/20/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Fall Classic - Upperclass Participant 9/21/13 - Long, lanky, FB: 81-84mph, arm side run, sweeping bender with mid-depth, nice and easy arm action, loose, plus upside, level path, quick hands inside the ball, strong arm, quick exchange on double play turns, athletic, works well around the bag

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
