07/10/2016 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Mackenzee is a very exciting young prospect with a very physical build. He has a very good feel for catching already and it shows with lightning quick pop times (2.19-2.31 seconds). He shows off his athleticism by being very quick to block and creating good angles and is also quick to his feet to recover. He tracks the ball well and has an advanced feel for working around and sticking pitches. At the plate, Mackenzee shows off a middle approach coming from a solid base with balance throughout his swing. He uses quick hands to get good bat whip and extension through the zone which generate line drive pop presently. This is a very talented young prospect who has the makings to become an impressive player at the next level.

01/31/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Mackenzee is a talented/athletic 2-way player (C/3B) who can make things happen on the diamond. Offensively, this righty has fluid rhythm to load getting good separation. He whips the barrel through the zone with quick hands, connecting and driving the ball with pop. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He is quick laterally and bodies up pitches in the dirt. Transfer/exchange is quick as he puts throws on the bag - pop times in the 2.40 range. At 3B, Mackenzee shows active prep footwork and moves fluidly around the GB. He fields the ball with soft/sure hands and works in-line toward his target at 1B. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Lower 1/2 drive
Catching
1. Blocking technique
2. Transfer/exchange
Infield
1. Lateral movements
2. Glove presentation
3. Arm strength (long toss)

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
