Official Scouting Report

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Macon is an extremely gifted catcher in the 2025 class. Scouts love his make-up, worth ethic and how he is in control of his actions. Behind the plate, he has all the tools. Calls a great game, is a field general, shuts down the run game with a plus an accurate arm (2.10 pop / threw 2 runners out in game action and along with several outstanding back picks) and is a plus defender. He has active feet and his body shows agile movements. Keeps his eyes behind the ball and has soft hands. He redirects the baseball with quick and clean actions. Arm is quick and loose and his ball has life. Blocks well and sacrifices his body on every dirt ball. At the plate, he is quiet in his set up and demonstrates excellent balance. Sees the ball well and hits off a firm front side. Path is direct and creates hard contact (84 exit velo). Had a monster week at the plate. Drove a ball into the wind to right center for a towering HR to go along with a 1B and double. Aside from his hitting talents, he is a plus baserunner. Uses his 6.97 speed to take free 90’s on steals (both traditional and vaults) and is tremendous at reading dirt balls. Overall, he draws comparisons to Red Sox 2023 1st round draft pick Kyle Teel with his athletic ability. Scouts think Macon is going to have a great junior year and will create numerous next level opportunities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
