07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Malik is an athletic 2-way prospect who showed very well during his time at Pirate City. He improved in several areas of his game since we last saw him. He is a hard working kid who asks questions and makes adjustments quickly. At 2B, he shows active footwork with fluid/athletic actions. Hands are soft/sure funneling the ball into a quick transfer. Throws have zip as he has the ability to turn the DP effectively. With the bat, he maintains an athletic setup with rhythm to load. He is a top of the line-up type of guy while remaining selective and seeing pitches. Swing is on-plane as he has plus barrel control, spraying line-drives. On the mound, Wilson has a FB/CB mix. He has a sound delivery and repeats his mechanics well. FB tops out at 80 mph as he works to keep it down in the zone. CB has 10/4 shape with gradual break. A talented 2-way player, Malik is a leader when he steps onto the field, which is something every coach likes to see.
