10/18/2015 - National Tryout Plus - El Paso, TX Manny has worked hard and developed into a solid 2-way prospect. With the bat, this strong righty stands in well with an athletic/balanced setup with rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he fires the barrel through a short/direct path to and through the zone. He connects with pop and uses the entire field (exit velocity = 84 mph). At 3B - Manny has active footwork coming to get the GB. He can pick the backhand smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix (FB, CUT, CH) coming from a free/clean arm action and high 3/4 arm slot. He commands all 3 pitches, spotting up well. FB touches 80 mph as he pounds the zone with strikes. Changeup is best off-speed as he throws it with FB arm speed - showing sink which will result in GB outs. Manny (2017 grad) possesses the tools that will provide success.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Manny showed a lot of potential at Pirate City, especially at third base and at the plate. He has very good arm strength/accuracy with good carry/life, hands are soft/sure and his footwork is efficient. His fielding will improve if he widens his stance and works hard on lateral quickness/agility. As a pitcher Manny possesses all the physical ability to succeed but his mechanics need work in order to see improvement on the mound. More specifically his arm action is too short, tempo/rhythm is off and he falls off to the first base side. At the plate Manny has an athletic setup, centered balance, workable lower half, good bat speed and the swing path is on-plane. He needs to let the ball travel into the proper hitting zone, watch the bat wrap on load and be more selective.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
