07/15/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Manuel Andres is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect that made several adjustments throughout the training weekend. At SS, Manuel is on time with his prep step and sees the ball off the bat well. He funnels the ball into his body and has a clean exchange. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Manuel starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits off a firm front side, keeps the barrel on plane with the ball, and stays balanced through contact. On the bump, Manuel gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. He is a strike thrower but needs to continue to ride his back leg to the plate to stay directional. Manuel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Las Vegas, NV Manuel is a thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Manuel has active feet, soft hands, and he fields in good rhythm. He moves well to the ball, funnels cleanly, and throws with consistency from a short arm action. On the mound, Manuel has good balance, and clean arm action, and a controlled landing toward home. He keeps his head on target and gets good extension on his pitches. At the plate, Manuel has a tall set-up, a square stride, and good balance. He has average bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and makes consistent contact. Manuel can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
