11/01/2015 - College PREP - Midland, TX Manuel is a R/R 2-way player as a RHP/SS. On the bump, this righty throws a FB & CB from a high 3/4 arm slot and clean arm action. He keeps his eyes on the target, maintains level shoulders and repeats his delivery well. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with both pitches. FB ranges from 65-67 mph as he can hit his spots. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action. Working to a taller balance point and driving his lower 1/2 downhill off of the rubber will help to get more into his pitches. At SS, Manuel takes solid angles and works around the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and has a clean exchange to throw. Working more from the ground-up and fielding the ball more out in front will help to improve his abilities at SS. With the bat, this RHH has a patient approach as he waits for his pitch. Swing is level as he barrels the ball up and works to drive the middle of the field. Swinging on a more direct path with more bat speed (not allowing arm to bar) will increase pop off of the barrel. Only a 2019 grad - Estrada still has a ton of time to work on and develop his skills.
