Official Scouting Report

  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Manuel is a 1B/RHP that graduates in 2025 who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Select Training and Competition. In the field, he had an athletic/strong base. He had soft hands that he kept out front with his eyes behind the glove. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good accuracy. On the mound, he was aggressive with his fastball. Fastball topped at 66mph and had some run and was able to throw it for a strike arm side and glove side. Showcased a curveball that had a 10/4 break. In the game, he gave up 2 hits in 3 innings pitched. At the plate, the right-handed hitter hits from an open stance with low hands. Has a small but effective load and is able to get his lower 1/2 thru. He had a hit and walk in the live game and showed ability to hit the ball to all fields. Manuel showed to be a big competitor on the field. With plenty of time for maturity, we expect to see Manuel to make huge strides on the baseball field.

09/19/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - San Bernardino, CA Manuel is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. In the infield, he showed ability to make routine play and good bag awareness. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action. Made on-line throws consistently with an arm velocity up to 70mph. On the mound, he has big projectible frame. He works exclusively from the stretch. He gathers over the rubber with a high leg kick and separates his hands on time. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 62-65mph and a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with early break. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. He takes an aggressive swing and tries to deliver the barrel. He sprayed the ball to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Manuel making huge strides on the baseball field.

06/25/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Manuel is a solid, strong 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. At 1B, he shows smooth actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing with power improving as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 65-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight cutting action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Manuel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
